Facebook şi Twitter au anunţat joi că au desfiinţat mai mult de 12 reţele de dezinformare de pe platformele lor, folosite de grupuri politice şi susţinute de state din mai multe ţări pentru a-i induce în eroare pe utilizatori. Operaţiunile aveau ca ţintă cel puţin alte 16 ţări, de la Azerbaidjan la Nigeria şi Japonia, potrivit Facebook şi Twitter. Facebook a anunţat că a suspendat 10 reţele, dintre care pe unele le-a identificat public anterior. La acea vreme, Twitter a suspendat 20 de conturi şi Facebook a anunţat că va investiga activitatea. ”Greşeala a fost semnalată echipei de comunicare a Facebook”, se afirmă într-un comunicat.
