Din cele 1.824 de miliarde de euro, România ar urma să beneficieze de 79,9 miliarde de euro. Formula inițială propusă de Comisia Europeană prevedea alocări de 500 de miliarde de euro prin granturi nerambursabile și 250 de miliarde de euro prin credite. În noul context, din cele 33,5 miliarde de euro, România va primi 16,8 miliarde de euro sub formă de granturi și 16,7 miliarde de euro sub formă de împrumuturi. Practic, din totalul celor 79,9 miliarde de euro, 16,7 miliarde vor putea fi obținute prin împrumuturi, iar 63,2 miliarde vor consista în fonduri nerambursabile la nivelul CFM și în cadrul NGEU. Fondurile totale disponibile pentru următorii ani, atât rambursabile, cât și nerambursabile, vor depăși această bornă.
