Menționăm că, pandemia COVID-19 și perioadele de carantină instituite au generat în plan global creșterea numărului de cazuri de violență în familie cu circa 30 %. Violența împotriva femeilor și în familie este un fenomen larg răspândit în Republica Moldova. În anul 2019 au fost înregistrate 2 597 de cazuri de violență în familie, iar în primele trei luni ale anului 2020: 678 de cazuri.
